ABSTRACT
With this issue, Pharmacognosy Communications enters into its third year. We are now well on our way to receiving a Thomson and Reuters impact factor following the completion of a 3 year period. In our first two years of publication, Pharmacogn. Communications has published 8 review articles, 73 original research studies and 17 short communications at an average of 9.8 published manuscripts per issue. We strive for publication of high quality studies as is reflected but our acceptance rate, which ranges from 25–37% each year across this period (the current acceptance rate for 2013 is 37% via online submission and approximately 28% for directly mailed submissions). Furthermore, the editorial team has established a number of regular features including a medicinal plants images section and the Janus Corner (to highlight interesting and important news and research in the field of pharmacognosy) and we encourage our readers to consider contributing to these sections as well. Thus, we have established a quality journal and undertake to continue to maintain and improve this quality. This policy will ultimately benefit our authors, as we strive to establish a strong impact factor when this is calculated following the completion of our third year of publication. Read more…
